E.G. Reilly (she/her) is a fourth year Echols and Miller Arts Scholar at the University of Virginia.

She studies History and English within the Area Program of Poetry Writing. When she was twelve, she wrote a 75-page novel on a tiny Dell laptop; her passion for creating has not changed since then. She writes everything: poems, songs, stories, scripts, and all that exists in between. At the University, Emma has found many opportunities to share her work. She is an avid member of FLUX Poetry and Spoken Word and writes for a satirical newspaper at the University. In the spring of 2022, she was a member of UVA’s Collegiate Union Poetry Slam Invitational (CUPSI) team. While the ACUI slam was cancelled due to COVID complications, she performed several works in a showcase at the end of that April. Emma is part of the jazz and pop vocal performance program at the University, where she has had the opportunity to write and perform her original songs in juried performances. Her work has been recognized recently as a semifinalist in the 2022 Adroit Prose Prize, and previously in various categories within the National Scholastic Art and Writing Awards. Emma’s work can be found on her website, egreilly.squarespace.com, or in various on-Grounds publications.
